About Me

One of the most difficult things for me to do is write about myself. I grew up in Laurens County Georgia and have been a Georgia Bulldogs fan my entire life because of my father. Graduated college with a degree in Biology from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. Called into the ministry at youth camp in 1975.

Pastored the Eastern Shore Wesley Bible Church in Montrose, AL from 1983 through 2006. After 23 years of ministry at ESWBC, I moved to Palatka Florida to become the Senior Pastor of Christ Independent Methodist Church in 2007.

After two open heart surgeries, one at 38 and the other at 55, AFIB came on with a vengeance in 2023. Because of struggling with this, I retired from the Senior Pastor’s position and focused on restoring my health.

I retired in May 2023 and have been focusing on writing my next book, Avoiding the Slippery Slopes, which should be completed in September 2023.

One of my greatest joys is teaching God’s word.

God has truly blessed my life and I am so thankful for all He has done for me, especially sending His son, Jesus Christ, to take my place on the cross and forgiving me of my sins.

Thankful for my wife, Pat, who has stood by me through thick and thin. Many hours she has spent in waiting rooms while I underwent different surgeries and procedures.

Thankful for my children and grandchildren.

I wear many titles, but the one I like the most are: husband, father, and grandfather.
